Aluminum coils are often seen in our daily lives, but many friends may easily oxidize them due to improper storage. Let's take a look at how to store aluminum coils together!
Aluminum coils can be packaged in whole rolls or divided into small rolls. When storing aluminum coils, the surface should be cleaned first using both physical and chemical methods. If conditions permit, it should be placed in a place with desiccants, and never in a damp place. Aluminum coils are non-ferrous metals, and if they come into contact with water, they will undergo oxidation reactions, causing damage to the surface of the coil. This will form a protective film on the surface, which will form white oxidation marks one by one, affecting the appearance. Therefore, a dry environment is a necessary condition for storing aluminum coils.
Wrap the aluminum coil with plastic film and put several packets of desiccant inside to avoid oxidation problems. Even if it needs to be used, the remaining aluminum coils should be wrapped in their original packaging and placed in a dry and ventilated place after use. If the aluminum coil is placed inside a wooden box, we need to ensure that the humidity of the wooden box is less than 18%, and the temperature of the aluminum coil cannot exceed 45 ℃.
If there is rain or snow leakage in the warehouse, aluminum coils should not be placed as it can easily oxidize. Aluminum coils are strictly prohibited from being stored together with chemical and humid materials during storage. If there is a sudden transition from a low-temperature area to a high-temperature area during storage, we should not immediately open the packaging as it is prone to oxidation. We should wait until the aluminum coil is at the appropriate temperature before unpacking to prevent oxidation.
